A visit to ZIARAT.

    Over view 

Quaid-e-Azam Residency (Urdu: قائد اعظم ریزیڈنسی‎), also known as Ziarat Residency, is located in Ziarat, Balochistan, Pakistan. It is where Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah spent the last two months and ten days of his life, nursed by A. S. Nathaniel. It is the most famous landmark of the city, constructed in 1892 during the British Raj. The building is a wooden structure, originally designed as a sanatorium before being converted into the summer residence of the agent of the Governor General. It is declared a heritage site and is of great architectural importance.

2013 Terrorism

                             On 13 June 2013 the residency was targeted by rockets. The wooden parts of the building were greatly damaged by the attack.Militants belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility. It was badly damaged as a result of the intense attack.^[1] However, the government of Pakistan has vowed to restore the site. The residency was also damaged during the 2008 earthquake. However, despite the wooden structure being badly damaged in the 2013 attack, the concrete structure was standing and the photographs along with the other artifacts were safe and sound.

Reconstruction. 

                               The reconstruction work completed by renowned builder Nayyer Ali Dada and the rehabilitated Ziarat Residency opened on August 14, 2014 by then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The Building is now open for all to visit it.

Soon after a restoration effort led by renowned builder Nayyer Ali Dada was started. Dada was a natural choice because of his prior experience with the house, and his history of working with conservation projects. He used the old photographs and documentation from the earlier restoration phases as a reference. A 140 million rupee-project recreated everything, from the powder blue tiles, faucets and commode in the Quaid’s bathroom, to the original wiring

Location

                 It is 130 kilometres (81 mi) from the capital city of Balochistan province Quetta.

Ziarat is the most beautiful district of Balochistan, It is 130 KM away from Quetta city. Where thousands of people come for picnic, tourism and travel, there are many reasons which attract the people to visit to Ziarat i.e Jinnah Residancy is situated in Ziarat. Hundred of people come from all over the Pakistan to see his memories. Ziarat is also very famous because It has world second largest forces of juniper trees. Those trees are about 7,000 year old. and also famous due to snowfall in winter season a lot of tourist came to Ziarat and enjoysits snow fall.

Ziarat has highest mountains of Baluchistan so hill hikers and adventure lovers climbs the mountains time by time In addition it is good place because it has good hotels, restaurants and you can get every type of thing in this small Vally.

                      Today, security personnel of Frontier Corps and policemen jointly guard the residency, and all roads leading to the building are monitored. Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has a motel complex in Ziarat town center nearby, and accommodation can be booked from the PTDC’s offices in Quetta, Karachi and Islamabad
